In-character reports of the happenings of the Indy Court
The first vampire in Indianapolis was Katie Fontaine of Clan Gangrel and the Miami Tribe. Soon after came “Father” Melvyn Ramsey of the Ministry. Melvyn encouraged religious zeal and political independence in the first Hoosiers, to some extent encouraging them to organize into competing cults that he could manipulate. Other vampires came to the area, in an uneasy truce under Ramsey’s leadership.
During the sect wars of the 20thcentury, the Sabbat overran Indianapolis, bypassing the Camarilla strongholds of Chicago and Fort Wayne. “Father” Ramsey directed mortal followers to burn out the Sabbat from Indy, with only some help from local Anarch vampires. Ramsey had hoped to become the world’s first Ministry Camarilla Prince. However, in what the Ministry calls the “Betrayal of Paris,” the Ministry was disinvited from joining the Cam. So, Indianapolis was going to be an Anarch stronghold tightly held by a Ministry Baron.
But then, Detroit fell to the Second Inquisition. With the strong support of Prince Anthony “Mad Dog” Wayne of Northeast Indiana, Dr. Augustus Sutherland of Clan Malkavian has taken control of the City. His Herald is “Smoky Joe” Roberts of Clan Toreador, a jazz musician who is smooth as butter. But there is a rival Herald, the beautiful Keisha Phelps of the Ministry, the personal representative of Marvyn Ramsey and the Anarch Rebellion.
Dr Sutherland solidified his Praxis by welcoming a number of new Kindred to the Domain: One Toeador, two Tremere, two Gangrel and one Hecata. Ambassador Keisha's attempts to sow dissension where largely rebuffed, poor thing. But the terrifying highlight of the evening was certainly the fall of Keeper of Elysium, Regent, and 99th degree Freemason George Schneider of Clan Tremere. Apparently his demise was telegraphed by Hecata representative May Sewall, moments before it happened. She said something about an "explosion" of holy light at the Scottish Rite Cathedral. Who could have guessed that living in a famous cathedral might be a dangerous choice for a vampire? What will the apprentices do?
The night began with some intrigue about the Tremere occult library. Who owns it, who holds it, and what will happen to it? Apparently a Tremere named "Alex of House Goratrix" was an interested party, but was uninterested in asking the Prince for Hospitality. That sounds like a scandal to me! These events were quickly overshadowed by the visitation of the ghost of Eli Lilly and the hunt for a very naughty Sabbat pack. The night ended with a lot of balls in the air. I wonder who they will land on?
Prince Sutherland challenged Elijah of Clan Tremere to deal with the angel that killed Elijah's Sire. Through the powers combined of the Tremere and Hecata, they managed it. With just a small assist from the Power Company. I understand the Power Company is run by a group of technology wizards. What's electricity, anyway? A saxophone, I understand. Anyway, the Tremere library is still unaccounted for, but Elijah is a Primogen, now. In the hubbub, Primogen Grimm of Clan Toreador got to be known as Influential, and Mr. Nathan Willis of Clan Tzimisce got to be known as Resourceful. I guess Elijah needs to catch up, but I wouldn't sell somebody who dealt with an angel too short. There might be a few debts in my book, but that's hush hush need to know unless you're paying as well as curious.
